Sympathy card

My children come to me whenever they need a card and tell me what they're looking for. My stash of cards for Thank You's, Get Well and Sympathy are about out, so I started making a few of them. Here is a sympathy card made with the Cricut and the Pagoda Cartridge. The papers are from K & Co. The stamp is from Studio G. Simple, but sometimes I think simple is good for a sympathy card.

Let it Snow card

I saw a sign with this saying while on vacation in Florida in December. I just had to make this card during our latest snowstorm.
I used paper from DCWV for the circles and the square behind the snowman. The blue and white cardstock was from my scrap bin. The circles were cut with the Cricut from Minimonograms and the snowman from Doodlecharms. I cut the "snowflakes" from Home Accents. The cart lists them as flowers, but they look like snowflakes to me. The stamp is from Studio G. I used 2 colors of blue ink, "starry starry night" and "royal blue" from Sugarloaf. I inked the edges of some of the papers with the same colors.

For the inside I used "sand" paper and green pattereened paper from DCWV, cardstock from my stash, cut trees and beach chair on the Cricut with Life Is A Beach, and hand lettered the sentiment.

After the 40 inches or so of snow we've had in the last week, just about everyone around here is going to agree with this!

Glass etching

This year I did some glass etching projects as Christmas gifts. I used my Cricut to cut vinyl and placed the vinyl on the item I wanted to etch. I them used "Armour Etch", an etching cream on the area NOT covered by the vinyl to etch the glass. After 15 minutes you remove the "Armour Etch" and wash the item with soapy water to remove any residue. That's all there is to it! What could be easier? I made several vases and one mirror. I only got photos of one vase and the mirror, but I think they turned out nice. The people who received them as gifts liked them.

Snowed In!

I live in the Mid-Atlantic area of the USA and we have been getting slammed with the snow! We have had several "top 10" snow storms this season. I took a few pictures of the backyard this morning. As it is snowing again, they may look a little blurry. For yesterday/today's storm we're at 15 inches and counting! That's on top of the 2 feet we had last weekend. We've had a new February record for amount of snow in our area.

At least I am having a little time in the craft room again, since I haven't had to go to work!
Stay safe and warm where ever you are!
