My parents will be celebrating their 55th wedding anniversary in about 2 weeks. I made this card for them. The base is the doily card from Wildcard (cricut). The rose and the oval are also cutfrom the Wildcard cartridge. The circle is cut from Minimonograms cartridge. The background paper is DCWV Once Upon a Time stack, the gold is from DCWV Metallic stack. I inked the rose and the stem and leaf, although it's hard to see in the photos. The ribbon is gold metallic wired ribbon from my stash. I popped the rose and the oval for dimension. I'm putting several pics in. One with flash, b/c it shows the paper nicely, but the colors aren't as true with the flash, and some to show the dimension.

Cards for Mom
I was able to work on cards a bit yesterday and today. I wasn't very pleased with the ones I made yesterday, but Mom will be getting them anyway! Today I liked the cards I made a bit better. So here are yesterdays-
#1 A momogrammed card with her last initial-D. The initial and swirls are Studio G stamps. Paper from my scraps.
#2 Thinking of you is a stamp from Studio G. The swirly thing is cut with the Cricut, from the Storybook cartridge. Papers again from my scraps.
#3 A birthday card. The stamp is from Inkadinkadoo, as is the inside sentiment stamp. The sentiment reads, "Birthdays are good for you, the more you have the longer you live." All the paper is from scraps.
Todays cards are all birthday cards. I made two with the same stamps, 3 of the stamps are studio G, the gift is a wood mounted stamp and I'm not sure of the manufacturer. The pink background paper is from DCWV Glitter cardstock stack, all other papers from my scraps.
#1
#2
#3 This card is cut with the Cricut from the Wildcards cartridge. The candle is colored with pencils and I added glossy accents to make it shine. The background paper and the frosting paper are from DCWV Glitter stack. I used a gel pen to highlight the lines in the cupcake wrapper and to outline the frosting. I think this one needs something, but I don't know what.

Busy
I've been working extra, lately and haven't had much time to play while at home so I haven't made any cards for a few days. Today I have a day off, it's snowing and school was cancelled so I have the girls helping around the house! This way more gets done in less time and I have time to play! I hope to get a few more cards made today for my mom's birthday. I hope to have a set ot at least 10 done by Saturday and I'd really like to have 15 or 20 to give her. So, I'd better get off the computer and get to work!

Valentine's cards
I've made 4 valentine's cards in the last few days. 2 of them are basically the same with some color variations. I used the question mark cut from the Storybook Cricut cartridge, pp from DCWV Glitter stack, cuttlebug hearts embossing folder and a Studio G stamp on these.
For this one I cut the heart with the Cricut, again using Storybook cartridge, same paper for the background and the stamp is from Heidi Grace.
On this one I used a stamp from Inkadinkadoo, stamped twice and the wing cut out and popped on foam tape, cut the marquee shape from coordinating papers with Storybook and popped them also. The "love" stamp is frrom Studio G. I inked on lots of the papers, and used a Martha Stewart (MS) edge punch for the lace edge. The inside sentiment was computer generated, and I inked the edges of the plain cardstock and the patterened paper. I think I'll give this one to my hubby.

More cards!
My Mom's birthday is coming up and she loves to send cards. So, guess what she's getting for her birthday? I made 3 more today-here they are...
#1 Simple birthday, used scraps of paper. Sentiment cut with Cricut from the BaseCamp cart, gifts cut from the Celebrations cart. Inside sentiment was computer generated.
#2 Another birthday card, again used scraps of paper, Leaf cut from Storybook cart with Cricut, it was actually twice that size and I thought it was too large for the card so I cut it in half, lots of inking, sentiment stamped, sentiment and leaf popped with foam tape.
#3 Sympathy card. Same leaf cut, (the other half), the pale green strip is embossed with the cuttlebug, sentiments (inside and outside) from a set by clearly wordsworth and the leaf inside is the negative from the full cut of the leaf.

Get Well Card-Hello Kitty
I started the year saying I was putting myself on a shopping ban, but I already broke down and bought the Hello Kitty Greeting Cricut cartridge! It was on sale and my parents had given me money for Christmas, which I hadn't spent, so I'll just tell them that's what they gave me for Christmas! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
Here is the first card I made with my new cart! I used a florescent yellow for the slicker and boots and then added glossy accents over them so they really shine. The patterened paper for the umbrella is from DCWV Glitter stack. The sentiment is "Under the weather?" , "Hope you're soon as right as rain!"

Magnetic paper dolls
I made a set of paper dolls with the Cricut and the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge. I ran the paper dolls thru my Xyron 900 after assembling them with the laminator/magnet combination. They stick to the altered lunch box tin. The tin also provides storage for the dolls. I tried making the clothes magnetic too, but they were too heavy, so I will have to make the rest of the clothes with tabs on them so they attach as usual. This was such a fun project to do! I really need to get busy and make some more clothes for them though!

Oh Happy Day!
I got my computer back and I'm online again! Hurray! Here are a few cards I've made recently. The first three were made with scraps that I had from a set of cards I made last year for a swap. The pp is from K & Co., the Sparkly Sweet stack, I used the Martha Stewart butterfly punch, a few Cricut cuts and ribbon from my stash.
For this card I used paper from my stash. I don't remember what company makes it. The birdhouse is from Cricut Stretch Your Imagination cart, and the bird is from 50 States. I inked the edges of the the paper with various colors of ink pads and outlined the bird and birdhouse with markers.
Here's a pic showing the dimension.

Still no computer
I'm still without my computer! It's very frustrating, but I should be back up and running in a day or two. I have made a few cards, but am unable to post them until I get my own computer back. I have exciting news though, my 22 yo daughter is engaged. The wedding won't take place for several years as Kristen still has graduate school to complete, as does Mike, her fiance. Kristen and I will have lots of fun planning things for the wedding, though!

Computer problems
I hate it when I have problems with my computer! Right now it's completely down and I am on my husband's computer. Of course it would happen on a weekend, so I can't get it to our computer tech until later, but at least I can borrow Ron's computer!
We had a big family dinner last night at our house. Ron and I cooked (and the kids and I cleaned) all day! Ron loves to have big get togethers. We had a total of 16 around the table last night! Ron built our table and instead of adding leaves to the middle of the table, he just made big extensions so it can stretch the whole length of our 20 ft. long dining room! It was a good evening, but man, was I tired when it was all over!
That was our last fling for the holidays, so the Christmas season is officially over at our house. The tree is down, all the decorations are away and life is settling back into it's routine. Amy and Rachel go back to school tomorrow and Kristen and Lance will start classes again soon, too. We are all looking forward to new challenges for 2009. I hope you are too!

New Year's Card
I made this card for some friends we visited New Year's Eve. I had a fun time making this card, but the glitter paper doesn't like to cut very well! The glittered paper is from the DCWV "All Dressed Up" stack, the silver is from DCWV metallic stack, the pink paper is K & Co., and the black is from the scrap pile. The 2009 was cut on the Cricut from Graphically Speaking cartridge. All the other cuts were from the Celebrations cartridge. This was a fun one to make and I love using pink and black!

My Children
A bit more about my children-as it says in my profile I am mother of 4. They are Kristen-22, Lance-20, Amy-17 and Rachel-14. It's so hard for me to realize that my "babies" are so grown up. At this point they are all still living at home. Kristen and Lance are college students and Amy and Rachel are in high school. As an "impartial" observer, I have to say that my children are absolutely wonderful! Kristen made Dean's List again this semester, Lance just completed training for the Army National Guard and received an award for "Distinguished Graduate" in his class, and Amy and Rachel just received distinguished honor roll awards for this semester in high school. They are also the cutest things you ever saw! (You'd never know I'm a proud mama, would you?) They can also make me want to pull my hair out from time to time, but we'll let that one go for the time being.

Happy New Year
Happy New Year to everyone. I had to work today, (as nurses do get to work all those lovely holidays and weekends.) I came home and saw movement in the window. At first I thought it was Hershey, then I remembered it couldn't be him. He was always checking the windows or doors when anyone pulled into the drive. When I got out of the car I realized it was my Kitty, sitting on the dining room table. I'm glad I still have her, even though I do miss my dog.
I walked through the door and my 14 yo daughter came to give me a "hello" hug, and tell me that she is already thinking of names for the puppy that everyone is already begging me to get! I told my husband I needed to wait a little bit and he said, "Well, after the new year." "That's tomorrow!", I told him and he laughed rather sheepishly! Rachel told me she wants to name our next dog, Reese, as in peanut butter candy. I think I see a trend here...LOL. My 22 yo daughter bought me some little spools of rbbon and left them on my desk for me to find with a little note to tell me she loves me. I have wonderful kids, and I think they are telling me not to stay sad to long. What do you think? A new year, with lots of potential is just what I need right now, and my children are all about helping see just how much potential there can be. I hope everyone has a bleesed new Year and that you can see the potential in your life!
